Gerd Muller was an astonishing goal scorer in the world

The entire international soccer fans, soccer lovers and the soccer players terribly upset upon hearing the demise of former soccer legend Gerd Müller. He died at the age of 75 after severely suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for the past six years.

Gerd Muller was the prominent soccer player of Bayern Munich Soccer Club from 1964 to 1979. He left Bayern Munich in 1979 at the age of 33 after playing for his prestigious soccer club for a period of 15 years.

Though his actual name was Gerd Muller, but soccer lovers across the world were fondly calling him as “Bomber Muller” as well as “Der Bomber” for his astonishing goal scoring powers.

During his decades long International soccer career, Gerd Muller scored 566 goals from 607 international soccer matches for his club Bayern Munich. He helped his team to four German titles, four German Cup wins and three European Cup victories.

Gerd Muller played 62 International Soccer matches for West Germany and he scored 68 goals. He was not only the finest West German forward but also the greatest goal scorer in the 1970’s and 1980’s. He was the main instrumental in West German team’s success whenever he was playing for the country.

Gerd Müller’s goal scoring style was marvelous and seldom soccer players were having such kind of goal scoring style. He was an ultimate poacher, great finisher, excellent striker and a finest person.

Gerd Muller immensely helped West Germany to win the European Championship in 1972 and to win the FIFA soccer World Cup title in 1974.

During the FIFA World Cup title match, Gerd Muller scored the winning goal in the final against the formidable Netherlands. Altogether Gerd Muller scored 14 goals in two FIFA soccer world cups.

Comparing with the performance of other soccer legends such as Pele, Maradona, Johan Cruyff, Leonel Messi, Ronaldo, Van Basten, Best, Eusebio, Di Stefano, Puskas, Beckenbauer, Zinedin Zidaneand Cristiano Ronaldo, Gerd Mullar’s performance was much higher than many names mentioned on the above list.
