On 27 July 2021 the entire India remembers former Indian President Abdul Kalam’s 6th death anniversary. He passed away on 27th July 2015 after a severe cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Shillong.
Abdul Kalam was the 11th President of India and he was in Presidential power from 2002 to 2007. He was one of the most inspirational figures and accomplished leaders in the world. He was one of the great leaders being loved by all people irrespective of India’s social and political diversities.
Abdul Kalam was born on 15th October 1931 in Rameswaram town of Tamil Nadu. As he born in a poor fisherman’s family, he faced lot of financial difficulties in pursuing his studies.
To cater the financial requirements for taking care of his family as well as to pursue his studies, he started selling newspapers and delivery the same on people door step. With great difficulty he has completed his studies with the support of scholarships and the money he was getting from working tirelessly.
Though he suffered lot during his childhood period, but later he has become Missile Man of India, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India in the rank of Cabinet Minister.
He immensely played key role in executing Pokharan-II Nuclear test. He received honourable doctorate from 40 Universities from India and across the world.
Considering his vast contribution towards the country, he was awarded Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna.He also received the S.R. Jindal Prize in 2011 for his outstanding Service to Mankind in the field of Science.
Before becoming President of India in 2002, Abdul Kalam worked with Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and then he worked with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
He played excellent role in India’s space & missile programs and his immense involvement with India’s space and ballistic missile development program earned him the nickname “Missile Man of India.
Abdul Kalam was a visionary leader and his main ambition was to build a strong and self-reliant India. His outstanding contributions and undying legacy in the field of science and education is always been a model of inspiration.
Abdul Kalam was always popular among the children and younger generations. Whenever he was getting opportunity he tries to reach out to them through lecture and public interactions.
He was always been humble, simple and eager in taking care of his countrymen than caring for himself. He was following simple life throughout his life even while he was living in the Rashtrapati Bhavan after becoming Indian President.
