My thoughts about world affairs

Nambi Narayan

Nambi Narayan was a victim of International conspiracy hatched by U.S. and U.S.S.R

Recently Indian Supreme Court ordered the The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct a thorough investigation for falsely charging with espionage and arresting of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan in November 1994. He was in the jail about 48 days in the jail and the interrogators committed ruthless mental harassment and cruelty on him during this 48 days.

Prior to his arrest, Kerala police officials alleged that Nambi Narayan and his colleagues had transferred highly confidential documents such as “flight test data” from experiments with rocket and satellite launches to foreign countries such as Pakistan, etc. through the alleged two Maldivian intelligence officers Mariam Rasheeda and Fauzia Hassan.

As C.B.I. could not find any evidence against him after the investigation, the espionage charges against Nambi Narayan were dismissed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in April 1996.

During this two years period, Narayanan’s distinguished career in space research center has already been adversely affected due to the physical and mental torture he experienced at the hands of investigation agencies, politicians and the medias.

Since then Nambi Narayan has been busy in carrying out legal battle for getting legal justice from the higher court of India.

In 2018, Indian Supreme Court has awarded Nambi Narayan Indian Rs. 50 lakhs as a compensation for the “mental cruelty” he suffered all these years for wrongly implicating in the 1994 espionage case.

As per the court order, Government of Kerala has already been handed over 50 Lakhs rupees to 76 years old Nambi Narayan.

Nambi Narayanan was a renowned Indian scientist, Senior Aerospace Engineer and was in-charge of the cryogenic engine’s division. He was the main instrumental in developing the Vikas Engine that ISRO was planning to use for their first PSLV. Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) is now India’s third generation launch vehicle of India.

Considering his vast contribution towards Indian space sector he was awarded the Padma Bhushan which is the third-highest civilian award of India.

Political leaders and the people of India are still believes that the espionage charges against Nambi Narayan was a broader and wider conspiracy hatched by the U.S.A and U.S.S.R. for preventing India from progressing in Nuclear and Space Research Technology.

The same way India has been still suspecting that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency was behind the death for Homi Jahangir Bhabha who was killed when Air India Flight 101 crashed near Mont Blanc on 24 January 1966.

Homi Jehangir Bhabha was a renowned Indian nuclear physicist, founding director, and professor of physics at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR). He was awarded the Adams Prize in 1942 and and Padma Bhushan in 1954 as well .

Apart from suspecting external conspiracy theory, Nambi Narayan was also a victim of the group rivalry and persecution by the Congress party in Kerala.

Former Chief Ministers such as A K Antony, Oommen Chandy and the group lead by Ramesh Chennithala have utilized this I.S.R.O. case as an opportunity to unseat K. Karunakaran from the power and they made him as a scapegoat.

Considering the same, I am off the opinion that the C.B.I. supposed to investigate those Congress party leaders who have vehemently involved in this broad based conspiracy to unseat K. Karunakaran from the power.
