World Water Day

World Water Day celebration is meant for highlighting fresh water problem

World Water Day has been celebrating on 22nd March every year in different part of the world and this celebration basically started from 1992.

March 22nd’s main aim and focus is how to manage and utilize the fresh water resources in an effective and efficient manner and to create awareness among the 2.2 billion global population about the importance preserving of fresh water. Fresh water is highly important for the global society and the people can’t survive in this world without fresh water.

On 22nd March 2021 World Water Day celebrated as “Valuing Water”. As the water resources in the earth has been depleting day by day, in future we are literally going to witness drastic water scarcity and the fresh water price will increase drastically. That is the reason, on 22d March 2021 celebrated for the Sustainable Development of achieving water and sanitation by all for 2030.

Ground water depletion is one of the worst ever problems the human being have been facing across the world and the main reason is the same to pump the ground water in a relentless and massive manner.

Ground water generally pump from the well when the water level reaches below the water table. If the groundwater level reduced to an abnormal level, then the owner of the well may deepen the well and simultaneously lower the pump to extract as much as water from the lower level.

Country like India having 1.3+ billion people are highly dependent on the rain water for fresh water. Earlier in many occasion, India experienced lack of rain, subsequently many part of the country experienced Ground Water depletion and scarcity of the fresh water. Excessive ground water pumping and it’s abnormal use is one of main reasons for the ground water depletion.

The more we pump the ground water the more it will lead to dry the well even in the normal climatic condition. Ground water is not only used for consuming water by the general public but also it is widely used for agricultural and industrial purpose.

Due to scarcity of water, Australians are now forced to spend lot of money for the bottled water. Branded company like Mount Frankling is now charging 3 dollars per one liter. bottled water. Whereas company like Voss is charging 8 dollars per per one liter bottled water. This is much higher than the cost of milk and petrol which is costing lesser than 1.5 dollars per liter.

In Australia, bottled water is most popular among consumers between 25 and 34 years of age and every year Australians are spending more than 2 billions dollars for purchasing the bottle water.

Due to water scarcity, many gulf countries are now reusing the treated waste water and utilizing the same for various purpose. They are also spending lot of money for setting up desalination plant for producing fresh water from the sea water.

If the water depletion will continue like this in future across the the world, then many countries are going to face water scarcity in future and they have to pay abnormal money for purchasing the fresh water in future.

Apart from the same, if the countries in the world are not going to take concerted efforts to address the problem of water depletion, then in future the entire world will witness another world war that will definitely for capturing water assets such as such as river, ocean and sea, etc. The sign of the same has already been started in South China Sea.
