Ever since Indian Government has revoked Article 370 and Article 35A of Jammu and Kashmir on 5th August 2019, Pakistan Government lead by Imran Khan decided to suspend the entire bilateral relationship with India.
He thought that his decision would force India to withdraw their decision on Jammu Kashmir. Contrary to their expectation, India ratified their decision in the Indian Parliament and the entire world has agreed the same.
Since then with the support of Pakistan’s all weather friend China, Imran Khan regime has been taking Jammu and Kashmir issue to every international platforms including United Nations, UNSC, etc. and their continuous attempt in this regard has already been failed miserably.
Pak regime thought that they would be able to make use of China’s military, financial and Veto power clout in the United Nations as well as other international platforms to force the world communities to put political and diplomatic pressure on India to revoke their decision. But the world communities including Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also completely neglected Pakistan in this regard.
Furious Pakistan then tried to create a separate group for the Islamic countries comprising of Turkey, Malaysia, Iran and Pakistan to enable them to take up the Jammu and Kashmir issue vigorously. But their attempt has miserably failed due to Saudi Arabia’s timely intervention.
Afterwards, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has given a veiled warning to Saudi Arabia lead Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to stop delay in convening a meeting of its Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) on Kashmir.
Qureshi further warned Saudi Arabia that they would call a separate meeting of Islamic nations and discuss about the Kashmir issue if the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) fails to do so soon. His warning was one or other way implying that Pak regime would try to divide Saudi Arabia lead Saudi Lead Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC).
Qureshi’s veiled warning on Saudi Arabia and the OIC has invited widespread condemnation not only from Saudi Arabia but also from other OIC members.
Since then Pakistan’s relationship with Saudi Arabia and many other OIC members have already been strained historically low level.
Pakistan’s unusual threat on Saudi Arabia has forced Saudi Arabia to ask Pakistan to repay one billion dollars immediately that was given to Pakistan earlier to stabilize their economy.
The same way the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also asked Imran Khan government to return its one billion dollars on or before 12th March 2021 that was deposited in the central bank of Pakistan. Cash starved Imran Khan Government tried their level best to get some extra time to pay back such a huge amount, but the U.A.E. government did not entertain Pakistan’s request.
Since June 2018, Pakistan has been on the FATF’s Grey List due to their continuous support to Pak based hard core terrorist groups. Still they could not come out from FATF Grey List because they have not yet complete many important action points. Due to the same, Pakistan is now finding difficulty in getting any financial support from other countries and international financial organizations.
That is the reason, Pak regime has been heavily relying on China to get the financial loan with excessive interest. Shrewd China has been providing whatever loan amount Pakistan wants till now. But now they are showing their real colour and asking Pakistan to repay the regular premium amount with hefty interest in time.
As Pakistan is not able to pay back their Loan’s Premium as well as it’s interest, China is now systematically taking over Pakistan’s assets and landed properties one after another.
In 2015, Pakistan’s Gwadar Port was officially leased to China until 2059 (total 43 years). This port was formally operational from 14 November 2016.
Under pressure from Chinese government, Pakistan government is now planning to hand over the two Sindh Province Islands such as Buddhoo and Bundal to China without taking appropriate consent from Sindh provincial government or it’s people.
China is asking for these islands to strengthen their footholds in the Arabian Sea through a China-Pakistan maritime collaboration.
As Pakistan is now facing worst ever financial crisis, they are not able to allocate money for purchasing Covid 19 vaccine for their people. Majorities of the people in Pakistan does not like Chinese Vaccine due to it’s adverse affects.
Instead they wants Indian vaccine and India is going to provide free 45 million doses of Covishield Vaccine to Pakistan (manufactured by Serum Institute of India Pvt Ltd), under the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (Gavi), for inoculating 45 million people.
It seems that Pak Prime Minister finally understand the importance of resuming baleteral relationship with India.
That was the main reason recently Pakistan promised of keeping complete observance of the ceasefire agreement.
At the same time Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa also said that India and Pakistan should bury the past and move forward for preserving peace and stability in the South Asian regime.
If Pakistan really wants to keep cordial relationship with India, then they have to take strictest and decisive action against those terrorist organizations that are based in Pakistan soil. They should also refrain from arming, abetting and encouraging cross border terrorism in Indian soil.
If Pakistan creates peaceful atmosphere and conducive atmophere for bilateral discussion, then Indo Pak bilateral relationship will be resumed and it will definitely benefit Pakistan in a bigger manner.
