On 18th July 2021 nine years are over since Rajesh Khanna passed away after prolonged illness due to the cancer. Indian movie lovers and his hard core fans are still missing their romantic superstar actor. He died on 18th July 2012 at the age of 69.

Rajesh Khanna’s birth place is in Amritsar, Punjab and he was born on 29 December 1942. He was the first movie acting superstar of Bollywood cinema.
During his decade four long movie acting career, he has witnessed lot of ups and downs. He struggled lot in surviving in the Bollywood industry after his superstardom was over.
His first Bollywood movie was “Aakhri Khat” that was released in 1966. Though this movie failed miserably at the box office, but in 1967 this movie became a contender of India’s official entry into the Oscar’s Best Foreign Launguage Movie Category.
Rajesh Khanna acted more than 168 movies and he has won 5 Film fare Best Actor Awards in 2005, 1990, 1975, 1972 and in 1971.
Rajesh Khanna was one of the finest movie actors in Bollywood. During the period from 1969 to 1971, his 15 consecutive movies such as Aradhana, Doli, Bandhan, Ittefaq, Do Raaste, Khamoshi, Safar, The Train, Kati Patang, Sachaa Jhutha, Aan Milo Sajna, Mehboob Ki Mehendi, Choti Bahu, Anand and Haathi Mere Saathi were super hit in Bollywood and his record in this regard is still unbroken.
Apart from the above 15 movies, many other movies also became super hit i.e. Kaka, Amar Prem, Anokha Rishta, Avtar and Amrit.
Even since he became superstar, he became the role model of millions of Indian movie lovers in India and abroad. His movie lovers and fans were waiting hours and hours to see him wherever he goes. At that time he was getting maximum media attention because of his super celebrity stardom. His long hair cut became widely popular among the mass and many were following his hair cut.
Rajesh Khanna became the first superstar of Bollywood in such a time Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt and Dilip Kumar were dominating in the Bollywood movies. Unfortunately except Rajesh Khanna, no other actors were able to become superstar of Bollywood.
Comparing with other renowned movie actors such as Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt etc, Rajesh Khanna’s acting skill was much lesser than them. But Rajesh Khanna’s superb romantic acting calibre immensely helped him to mesmerize his movie audiences that has paved the way in becoming the first Superstar in Bollywood.
Rajesh Khanna was an undisputed master of romance from 1969 to 1971 and nobody was able to perform such a superb romantic roles with heroines like him. As he was a good romantic actor, handsome, good personality, many of his heroines were wished to get marry him.
Though he has dominated in the Bollywood movie industry quite long time, but his life became hell at the end of his movie acting career.
At the end of his movie acting career he became addict of alcohol. Gradually he has started indulging violent attitude that has eventually led him to follow an isolated life. His habits of taking excessive alcohol took a toll of his movie acting career once and for all.
