The entire world is now eagerly waiting for the outcome of 2021 assembly election in Kerala. Earlier U.D.F. and L.D.F. was directly fighting each other for capturing power in the state. The electorates in this state never allowed any political combine (either LDF or UDF) to rule the state continuously after their 5 years tenure.
Now the political situation in Kerala has completely changed. As the BJP’s grass root level support has been increasing day by day in a rapid manner, the state is now witnessing bitter political fight between three political front U.D.F., L.D.F. and N.D.A.
In this assembly election, the BJP lead political front N.D.A. has been trying their level best to winning their candidates from Mancheswaram, Konni, Trichur and Nemam, etc. and to increase their tally in the state assembly at any cost.
At the same time, L.D.F. combine lead by Pinarayi Vijayan is now in a good spirit and they are claiming that L.D.F. would come back to power once again with thumping majority.
During the election campaign period, L.D.F. combine rigorously boasted themselves that they have relentlessly carried out lot of developmental work across the state.
At the same time, the opposition parties accused that the L.D.F. government has spent multi crores Indian rupees for showing bright and positive news coverage about the L.D.F government lead by Pinarayi Vijayan.
In the beginning of the election campaign, L.D.F. candidates were far ahead than any other party candidates. They were very much happy whenever the popular news channel’s opinion polls predicated that the L.D.F. political combine would come back to power once again with clear cut majority.
Contrary to their expectation, the political situation in the state has completely changed after the central and state leaders of U.D.F. and N.D.A carried out systematic and relentless election campaign for their candidates.
This time congress leaders such as Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi took this election as their prestige issue and they have relentlessly campaigned across the state for the success of their candidates. Their tireless election campaign across the state has literally changed the political tide from L.D.F. and U.D.F.
During the election campaign, U.D.F. leaders effectively highlighted the corruption scandal of L.D.F. government such as Chief Minister Office’s (CMO’s) naked involvement in gold smuggling case, P.S.C’s rank list issue, backdoor appointments of CPM leaders and cadres in government offices, and for entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a US-based EMCC International on deep sea fishing in the state. This MoU was basically a 2950 crore project.
Even though the majorities of opinion polls predicted that the L.D.F. would come back to the power once again, the ground realities in the state are now much different from the opinion polls prediction.
It was true that the L.D.F. candidates were far ahead than other candidates in the beginning. But now the situation has completely changed and in many constituencies L.D.F. candidates are far behind than U.D.F. and N.D.A. candidates.
As all these corruption charges are still in the heart and mind of the electorates in Kerala, I strongly believe that the U.D.F. political combine will come back to power in the state with thumping majority.
