Recently a military court in Myanmar has found Aung San Suu Kyi guilty of breaking Covid restrictions and provoking dissent against military government. Hence, the court has sentenced her four years jail term.
Soon after the verdict, the President of Myanmar Win Myint Chief utilized his presidential power and reduced her jail term from four years to two years. According his decision, she supposed to be in the jail next two years.
Military court’s latest verdict has invited wide spread condemnation from United Nations, United States, European Union, India and many other countries across the world. All are off the opinion that this verdict was totally absurd and politically motivated.
Myanmarâs military has overthrown her from the power and seized the power of Myanmar on 1st February 2021. Since then she has been on house arrest along with her most trusted top lieutenants.
Military Junta removed her from the power in such a time just after her party experienced a massive election victory in the national elections held in November 2020.
Just after the last election results, top brass of army accused that the November 2020 nationwide election was marred by fraud and they would not be able to accept the election results.
Ever since military removed Aung San Suu Kyi from the power, Myanmar has been witnessing widespread agitation/violence against the Military regime and the military junta has been busying in crushing the violence with iron hand.

Law and order situation in Myanmar is now getting worse than worst day by day and the military regime has given full permission to the soliders to fire indiscriminately on the agitating people.
Till now, more than thousand people have already been killed during the nationwide protests and the mass civil disobedience movement in the country.
Myanmar military junta has always been ruthless and they have once again proved that they are ready to carry out any brutal acts against the leaders and the people of Myanmar to hang on the country’s power.
Nine months are over since she has been overthrown from the power. During this period military junta has already been charged dozens of criminal charges against her.
Aung Saan Suu Kyi was the first elected State Counselor of Myanmar which is equivalent to Prime Minister. She was ruling the country from 6th April 2016 to till she was overthrown by Myanmar military on 01st February 2021.
With great difficulty Aung Saan Suu Kyi brought back the democracy in the country. To achieve her goal, she spent nearly 15 years in detention from 1989 to 2010.
Aung Saan Suu Kyi’s personal struggle against the military rule paved the way in bringing democracy in the country and the same has made her an international symbol of peaceful resistance against the military oppression.
Considering her unrelented peaceful struggle to bring democracy in the country and her struggle against ruthless military’s oppression, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991.
China is the only country which has been vehemently supporting military government in Myanmar. Their main intention is to get maximum business from Military Junta rather than concerning about the democratic set in Myanmar.
