On 25th December 2021 India celebrated 97th birth anniversary of the former Indian Prime Minister of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was an excellent Prime Ministers of India. During his Prime Ministerial tenure, he has carried out outstanding contributions towards India’s growth and development.

He was an inspirational leader who have devoted and dedicated his life for creating India as a strong and developed country in the world. His excellent initiative in developing India widely created positive results for India.

To mark the respect of A.B. Bajpayee and his able and efficient governance, India is now celebrating “Good Governance Day” on his birthday every year.

He was born on 25th December 1924 and he died on 16th August, 2018 at the age of 93 at AIIMS after a prolonged illness.

During his five decades long political career, Vajpayee served as a President of the BJP, Member of Parliament, Opposition Leader, Central Minister and the Prime Minister of India.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the first-ever BJP leader to become the Prime Minister of India. He was leading the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government and he served three terms as the prime minister of India.

His first term as a Prime Minister was only for 13 days in 1996, second time he served for a period of 13 months from 1998 to 1999, and the third time he served full term from 1999 to 2004.

Considering his vast contribution towards the country, Vajpayee was conferred Bharat Ratna (India’s highest civilian award) in 2015 and Padma Vibhushan award in 1992.

He also received Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant Award for Best Parliamentarian in 1994.

Being one of the founder members of the BJP, Vajpayee contributed lot for flourishing BJP across India and to rule a BJP lead government in India for the first time in 1990.

His Prime Ministerial tenure was widely credited with ushering in a fresh wave of liberalization, boosting growth and infrastructure.

India conducted it’s first nuclear test under the able and efficient leadership of India’s great leader Indira Gandhi was in power.

During Vajpayee’s Prime Ministerial tenure, his government has implemented a National Telecom Policy in 1999 that has widely helped the telecom industry to overcome many of its worst challenges.

He has taken immense efforts in opening up the telecom sector for providing policy momentum to expand the telecommunication sector in the country.

His government’s telecom policy allowed telecom companies to provide mobile services on a revenue share basis instead of the fixed fees they were paying earlier.

Vajpayee was was the main instrumental in creating the first Bharat Mala Golden Quadrilateral Road Network laid across length and breadth of India and he introduced Sarva Siksha Abhyan for providing school education of all poor children.
