Indians remembered B.R. Ambedkar on Constitution Day

On 26th November 2021, the entire India celebrated “Constitution Day” or “Samvidhan Day” to create awareness of the importance of the Indian Constitution and it’s main contributor Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

On this occasion, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid rich tributes to B.R. Ambedkar who was the main architect of Indian Constitution.

In 2015, Indian government decided to celebrate “Constitution Day” on 26th November every year that was the day Indian Constitution was adopted. Afterwards every year India celebrates “Constitution Day” on 26th November.

In 1946, the Constituent Assembly formed a six members committee to draft an Indian Constitution and they have appointed B.R. Ambedkar as a Chairman of this Committee.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar lead Draft Committee has completed the draft of Indian Constitution in 1948, presented it to the assembly and the same was adopted on 26th November 1949 with some amendments. Indian Constitution finally came into force on 26th January 1950.

Being the Chairman of the draft committee of Indian Constitution, Ambedkar played an important role in materializing a broad based Indian Constitution. That is the main reason he is widely known as “Father of Indian constitution”.

B.R. Ambedkar was an important freedom fighter and he carried out relentless political fight for getting fundamental rights of Dalits, untouchables and the women as well. He also tried for a society that is governance based on the principle of equality and justice.

He was born in a poor Dalit family settled in Mhow Village, Madhya Pradesh. As he born in a poor backward family, he faced lot of socio-economic discrimination and untouchability while he was growing.

With great difficulty Ambedkar completed his higher studies and he earned doctorates in economics from both Columbia University and the London School of Economics, gaining a reputation as a scholar for his research in law, economics and political science.

Prior to getting the doctorates from Columbia University and London School of Economics, he was an eminent economist, professor as well as a good lawyer.

He was the main backbone of Indian Constitution. He has immensely contributed lot for building a strong, united and credible India.

B.R. Ambedkar was the first Law and Justice Minister of India in the Jawaharlal Nehru Government. During this period, he worked tirelessly for equality, justice and the welfare of the Indian citizens. He was the main voice of the suffering dalit community in India.

He was totally against the inequality within the cast and he vehemently fought for preserving human dignity to make India a better place in the world.

He vociferously advocated for massive industrialization, urbanization in India and vehemently supported for keeping the major/key industries under the government control.

Those days he used to state that the capitalism would lead to exploitation of poor people and it would always been detrimental to the downtrodden people of the society.

Considering his vast knowledge about the social subjects, Law & Order and his vehement efforts in preserving human dignity in the country, he was widely called as “Champion of Fundamental Rights”.
