Bhagat Singh is a revolutionary freedom fighter sacrificed his life for freedom

On 28th September 2021 India has celebrated Bhagat Singh’s 114th birth anniversary. On the occasion, different political parties organized varieties of programs to pay tribute to the revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on his 114th birth anniversary.

Bhagat Singh was born on 28th September 1907 in Layalpur district that is presently in Pakistan.

During his childhood period he was highly influenced the ideology of socialism. Later when he grown more, he has taken the initiative in forming Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA).

Bhagat Singh was the youngest freedom fighter and the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian freedom struggle. He was and still considered as the youth icon of India.

Bhagat Singh was a true patriot and a greatest freedom fighter of India. He bitterly fought for getting total freedom from British’s illegal occupation in India and to teach a bitter lesson to British Emperors at the hands of Indian people. He sacrificed his life for India’s freedom at the age of 23 years.

During his childhood era, patriotism was flowing Bhagat Singh’s blood. Upon the completion of his secondary education he started talking about of using the gun against British occupations forces.

In the intention of participating the freedom movement, he left the school at the age of thirteen and he involved in several violent demonstrations of political defiance.

He wanted the entire Indians to carry the guns along with them to carry out an armed struggle against British regime for their illegal occupation in India. Those days he was always asking himself why such a large number of Indians could not be able to drive away the illegal British regime from Indian soil.

He began closely associated with the revolutionary movement just after British regime carried out ruthless massacre at Jallianwala Bagh on 13th April, 1919. This brutal incident has shaken Bhagat Singh in a severe manner and he became more furious against British Emperors.

To shun the foreign cloths from Indian soil, Bhagat Singh actively participated the powerful anti-foreign cloths movement in India. During this period he was only wearing Khadi clothes and he was collecting foreign clothes and burning them periodically.

In 1928, Bhagat Singh formed the Hindustan Republican Association (HRA). Later the same has become Hindustan Socialist Republican Army (HSRA) with the support of veteran revolutionaries like Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ullah Khan and Chandrashekhar Azad.

He was the brainchild of the famous patriotic slogan “Inquilab Zindabad” and the same has gradually become the major source of inspiration during the freedom movement.

Bhagat Singh was always courageous even after convicted to the death. He was in a cheers mood when his mother visited him in the jail few days before the execution date. The entire jail authorities were shocked to see his courage just after a British court convicted him to death.

On 23rd March 1931, Bhagat Singh along with Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged after convicting to death for killing a British police officer JP Saunders to avenge the death of the Congress leader Lala Lajpat Rai. Lala Lajpat Rai was severely injured and passed away on 17 November 1928 after his protest march came under severe baton charge by the British police.

Bhagat Singh’s execution brought high patriotic emotions throughout the country. Bhagat Singh was indeed a true patriot and he had no second thought in giving away his life for India’s freedom.
